I believe therapy is a space to grow.
Throughout our lives, we move through seasons of change—some expected and others that catch us completely off guard. Whether we're learning to navigate big emotions as a child, discovering who we are as a young adult, or finding our footing during a transition later in life, growth often asks us to slow down, look inward, and approach ourselves with greater understanding and compassion.
My role as a therapist is to create a warm, safe, and supportive space for that process.
I work with children, teens, and adults to help them better understand themselves, develop meaningful skills, and build an inner toolbox they can return to as life continues to change. Rather than focusing only on what's difficult, I want the people I work with to recognize their strengths, honor their capacity, and feel more connected to themselves and the world around them.
With children and teens, I believe it's especially important to meet them where they are developmentally. As a Registered Play Therapist, I use play and other developmentally appropriate approaches to give children a natural way to express themselves, process their experiences, and develop new skills. I also value working closely with parents and families to create a deeper understanding of what their child may be experiencing emotionally, physically, mentally, and developmentally.
With adults, our work may look different, but the heart of it remains the same. Therapy can be a place to navigate transitions, explore who you are and what matters to you, develop greater self-compassion, strengthen coping skills, and begin shifting patterns that no longer serve you.
I have been a practicing clinician since 2012, with experience in both clinical and school counseling settings. Working in a school has given me a unique perspective on the academic, social, emotional, and developmental experiences that shape children and teens, and on the importance of understanding the whole child within the context of family, school, and community. I am fully licensed in North Carolina and California, earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and my graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Southern Methodist University, and am a Registered Play Therapist.
I value the relationship I build with each person I work with and consider it a privilege to be invited into a part of their journey. My hope is that therapy becomes not simply a place to work through what's difficult, but a space where you can understand yourself more deeply, recognize your own capacity, and grow.
Outside of work, I find joy in soaking up time with my family, trying out new recipes, traveling, getting lost in a new book, and forever searching for the best pastries and coffee in town!
